Ultraviolet light

Electromagnetic radiation with a wavelength from 400 to 100 nm. This wavelength is shorter than visible light but longer than X-rays. It is invisible to the human eye, but some animals, such as insects, can perceive it. Short-wavelength ultraviolet radiation can damage DNA and can be used to kill harmful microorganisms.
