Elastic scattering

Elastic scattering.

A type of nuclear reaction in which an incoming subatomic particle bounces off the nucleus of an atom without transferring energy to it or altering its composition. Neither the energy nor the composition of the nucleus are changed, nor is the energy of the incident particle. The particle only change its trajectory.
