Lift turbine

Wind turbine with blades working on the lift principle. The airfoil of the blades is shaped so that at the correct angle of attack, the wind speed on one side of the blade is higher than on the other. This leads to a pressure difference, which leads to lift, which causes the rotor of the wind turbine to spin. Lift turbines with a horizontal axis are the most commonly used type of wind turbine.
