A property of plasma in which charged particles react together to an external electromagnetic field through long-range electrostatic force interactions. A moving charged particle responds to the magnetic field by changing its trajectory, creating its own magnetic field to which other charged particles respond by changing their trajectories. The overall behaviour of plasma is the sum of the behaviour of all the particles that it is composed of. This gives the plasma complex fluid-like properties.
