Wavelength

The distance between two corresponding points of two successive waves. It is denoted by the Greek letter lambda and is given as the ratio of the wave propagation speed to its frequency. Thus, light propagating in a vacuum at the speed of light has a shorter wavelength the higher its frequency. For example, green visible light has a wavelength of 550 nm.
