Wind power plant
A device that harnesses the energy of the wind to generate electricity by means of a rotating turbine. Most often, wind power plants use a horizontal axis lift turbine, but they can also use a vertical axis turbine.
Mankind has used the wind to propel ships, drive irrigation or grind grain since ancient times. Many types of turbines are used to convert wind energy into electricity. The most successful is horizontal axis lift turbine.
