Demolition refers to the removal or destruction of buildings and civil structures that are no longer needed after decommissioning activities are completed. Before demolition can begin, radioactive contamination must usually be removed or reduced to acceptable levels. Conventional demolition methods may then be used similarly to non-nuclear industrial projects.
